BCIT Engineering Technology Programs

I have just received a few brochures from BCIT advertising its Mechatronics and Robotics program.

The Mechatronics and Robotics program at BCIT is a two-year engineering technology program that combines aspects of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, micro-controllers, and computers. The program offers a mixture of theory and practical training with a lot of hands-on lab opportunities.

The program leads to an accredited diploma, or you can bridge that diploma into an engineering degree (both at BCIT, or at a university that has transfer agreements with BCIT).
Job prospects for graduates of this program are excellent according to BCIT because the students obtain a very unique skills set that may not be obtained through the traditional university programs.

For more information, come to see me, Mr. Hengeveld, or Mr. Scoten for a brochure. I also have contact information if you wish to speak to the program director at BCIT.

A New Site for Scholarship Information

Have you ever thought that writing about the best toy you have ever owned could earn you a scholarship of $500? Do you know that by uploading the most fabulous picture you have ever taken you may be given an award of $600? Have you heard about the essay contest where you can earn a $1000 scholarship by talking about animal rights advocacy? Like I have said to some of you many times, there are many scholarship opportunities out there, and some criteria may be so specific that you would be one of the few that qualify!

A resource website has just been brought to my attention. studentscholarships.org (click here) has a comprehensive list of scholarships, career and salary information, and many more information that may be of interest to you. Together with BC Awards Online (click here to enter the site), you can probably find as many scholarships as you can imagine, and maybe you can even find an award that is tailor-made just for you.

I have not registered for an account with studentscholarships.org, so I don't know how exhaustive its information is. But if want to, it wouldn't be a bad idea to take a look.
